DescriptionThe Staff Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) who practices within the scope of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act to ensure the delivery of comprehensive, high quality, individualized nursing care, based upon knowledge and experience, the nursing process and leadership skills. Community First Medical Center has the following availability for Nurses who are looking to work variable shifts, as an "As Needed" basis in most all units.Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Assesses each patient’s biophysical, psychosocial, environment, spiritual, cultural, self-care, educational and discharge planning based on age and development status.
Utilizes the caring behaviors of empathy, active listening and cultural sensitivity and supports patient dignity.
Develops and prioritizes an outcome directed plan of care to assigned patients and changes as necessary.
Performs clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures.
Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions.
Reviews the plan of care and consults with the physician and other health care providers.
Documents care per documentation standards.
Provides patient/family education.
Serves as a mentor/preceptors for colleagues and other staff within or outside of areas of responsibility.
All nurses must meet and maintain annually all of the Performance Standards and expectations.

Education And/or Experience
BSN preferred
Must have 1+ years of experience required
Ability to follow instructions and record information accurately

A community nurse is a registered nurse that delivers bespoke care to clients in their homes and local communities. Community nurses do not require a specialist nurse qualification but previous experience working as a registered nurse. They are responsible for delivering high-quality care which includes: Catheter care.
As a Community Nurse you will: Be responsible for contributing to the holistic assessment, planning delivery and evaluation of care to patients within their own homes. Implement, monitor and maintain high standards of care delivery at all times. Care for patients and their families in the way that you believe is best.
Each Band represents a different level of experience, education and responsibilities, with Band 5 being the “entry-level” position and Band 9 being the most senior position. Almost every nurse will start out at Band 5 and can move up the bands by furthering their skills and experiences in the workplace.
To coordinate and supervise a shift, communicating effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence-led care to patients. To exercise clinical judgment and decision making about patient needs in terms of long term goals or plans.
Nurses who have a broad range of experience are often better positioned to move up to a more senior role. To move up to a band 6 role, Nurses may need to undertake further education and training. This can include courses and qualifications in areas such as leadership, management, and advanced clinical practice.
